Admittedly, my iTunes on my computer lacks a lot of the music in my overall collection. Although there is not a lot of music on my computer (only enough to play for 1.3 days straight) I still think it represents the overall mix of genres & artists that I listen to.

Paper Tongues from Charlotte, North Carolina began as part of a weekly “Inprov Music Experience” where musicians would play for the homeless at a major intersection in the city. The bond that was formed by the band, each from different backgrounds came together just like the different musical backgrounds of the bands members. You can hear these influences in their music as it comes together for a solid, eclectic sound.

Benjy Davis Project are a Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based band that plays good music and has a good time doing it. The band plays music that you would hear from a band at any Southern bar, but they don’t sound like the same mediocre bar band playing old cover songs. With a sound that is truly Southern, this rock band will have you moving along with the music and having a great time doing it.

Crash Kings – “Mountain Man”

Crash Kings may sound a lot like other bands you have heard, (Ben Folds, Cold War Kids, White Stripes) but on a closer listen, one thing is missing. The overall sound of the power-pop trio is complete and well-rounded even with one seemingly standard instrument missing – a guitar. The band is lead-guitarless; they consist of keyboards, a bass, and a drum kit. Crash Kings seems poised to hit it big with tracks that are aimed for indie-pop radio stations and blog lists from all over.
